At first, I loved the idea of the “no kings” protest.
I thought, finally, the right messaging. Concise. Simple.
Then, I saw a quote from a protestor, “They don’t understand anything about the fact that we are all kings and not him”. - George Atkinson, former government teacher.
This didn’t resonate with me: we are all kings and not him.
We are all kings. Full stop.
Sovereign.
And understanding the definition of sovereignty is vital:
Supreme power and authority. Self-governance.
So I say, “Yes Kings”.
Because we are all sovereign beings.
Individuals.
With the right to exist.
To live as we see fit.
And to follow the golden rule, treating others as we wish to be treated.
The “no kings” messaging will not work.
Because deep down in our subconscious we understand that we are all free.

Making you sovereign makes me sovereign, too. Win-win.
